I always liked this song a lot
Frankly, the whole record is solid, but it’s hard to look at it objectively from eight years away. We used to play with these dudes pretty regularly and they were always the coolest to us. When everyone was scrambling to sound like American Nightmare, Madball, or Outburst, we would talk about how absurd it was that “Threefold Misery” and “Life. Love. Regret.” were currently out of print.
It’s easy to get nostalgic regarding that period of youth. Its always going to seem like not too long ago that I was working at a skate shop, skipping classes, and blowing all my money on fast food and records while sleeping on friends’ floors. Truth is, that was basically a lifetime ago, and every so often I’ll hear a song from the early 2000’s and feel slightly less like a father of two trying to keep a roof over my kids’ heads. And more often than not it’ll be a mediocre hardcore band that does it.
